Just like New Yorker JD Ferguson and French Eric Sposito (to name a few), Sylvain Norget is a model-turned-photographer. Looking for a smooth transition, he started in 2007 with several noteworthy series of self-portraits.
Among them is the decidedly troubling Naked Rabbit (above) that illustrates the photographer’s leporiphobia — that’s what you call freaking out in the presence of rabbits. He puts on a rabbit mask — frightening even to the non-phobic — and exposes the rabbit himself to the camera. Behavioral therapy or not, his approach is charming and his body is not lacking.
More self-portraits of Sylvain in the gallery.
