We can only praise the official website of French athlete Romain Barras for giving us all the information we need. All the news, press clippings and interviews are there, along with very detailed tables of his records and progressions (broken down by athletics disciplines) and, last but not least, a frequently updated photo gallery. Recent pictures taken in Thailand confirm that our favorite decathlon specialist still has a great body and a solid sense of humor (check the gallery below for a gigantic proof of the latter).

Don’t let those holiday pictures fool you, though. The Olympics start in one month and Romain just entered the final stage of his preparation, which began last winter in Potchefstroom, South Africa. On June 8th, he scored just ahead of 8000 points in Arles, France, and came close at 7974 points 3 weeks later in Hengelo, Netherlands. A performance he still needs to improve substantially if he wants to mount the podium in Beijing. Now, do we need to reiterate our unflinching support?
