World No 3 diver Matthew Mitcham of Australia won the Olympic gold medal in men’s 10m platform diving this Saturday in Beijing, defeating Chinese favorite Zhou Luxin on his final dive, and denying China a sweep of all eight diving golds. Phew! He scored four perfect tens for his unbelievable back two-and-a-half somersault with two-and-a-half twists — a stunning difficulty 3.8 dive.
