Gaspard Ulliel: Great Prince of French Cinema

Gaspard Ulliel graces the cover of French magazine Mixte. Their “100% Hommes #2” September 2008 issue offers an in-depth exploration of the fall/winter 2008 fashion, staged in “unexpected, poetic and picaresque stories.”

Gaspard looks more mature, but remains charming as ever in a featured series of portraits shot by Randall Mesdon (Chris Leabu’s favorite photographer). In a long interview with Stéphane Charbit, the 24-year-old explains his move from the tortured boyish characters of his earlier films, to more complex roles.

He recently played the son of French actress Isabelle Huppert in Un Barrage Contre le Pacifique, that premiered during the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2008. The movie is adapted from Marguerite Duras’ novel The Sea Wall, and set during the French Indochina war (1946-1954).
