French Decathlete Romain Barras Lends his Pole, Finishes Third

Andrei Kravchenko from Belarus won the decathlon at the Decastar Meeting in Talence, France, on September 14. Jamaican Maurice Smith finished second and Charmants.com favorite Romain Barras (above, killing you softly) was third.

Since the poles of all the Eastern European athletes were left behind at the airport in Moscow, French Romain Barras and towering Austrian Roland Schwarzl offered them to use their equipment. “It might cost us our bonus and the risk that our poles can be broken, but we cannot accept that this is the end of the competition for them,” Romain and Roland declared.

Our generous Romain Barras was the strongest in the event with a height of 5.05m — his personal record. It pays to play nice.
