Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Last Saturday at the Rasunda soccer stadium in Stockholm, Sweden, Cristiano Ronaldo was returning to international play for the first time since the European Championship, and that should have been terrible news for a Swedish team that missed nearly half of its regular lineup because of various injuries. Finally, it wasn’t all that bad. Sweden dominated play for much of this World Cup Group 1 qualifying match and eventually settled for a 0-0.

Ronaldo’s only scoring chance went over the crossbar and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 78th minute attempt was defeated by the Portugal goalkeeper. He didn’t score alright, but has Cristiano ever looked more ripped?

In other World Cup South Africa 2010 news, Brazil’s goalkeeper Julio Cesar and striker Robinho (below) spent most of yesterday — Monday — relaxing on Vidigal beach in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil will play against Colombia in a qualifying match in Rio de Janeiro tomorrow October 15. While the first-gen iPhones and the speedos are acceptable, the accompanying girls are not (check the gallery).
