Spanish — but New-York-based — photographer Ignacio Lozano just shot this BoyToy Story for Charmants.com. And the boy waking up and chilling at home (above) is no other than Mr Gay Europe 2008 Antonio Almijez — who likes to be called Tony. Of course we had a few questions for this 20-year-old professional swimmer, model, actor and dancer from Madrid.
How old were you when you came out to your friends and family? How did it play out?
I told to my parents and my brother when I was 18, and it was a terrible experience. My parents never understood me, my brother did though. But now it’s different, and the rest of my family and friends got to know about it when I was elected Mr Gay Europe 2008.
Can you name photographers you admire?
Sandro Mantovani, Joan Crisol, Juan Tejada and Ignacio Lozano.
Who took what you think is the best picture of your ever?
My great friend Sandro Mantovani, very professional, great and spectacular photos.
What are your two favorite words and your two favorite parts of a man’s body?
Happiness and Love. Big hands and beautiful eyes!
What are you good at?
I’m good at sports. I won swimming competitions for Spain twice.
What are you a total klutz at?
I’m so shy, and it’s so difficult for me to meet new people and flirt with guys, I prefer when the guys flirt with me (laughs).
Can you tells us about a circumstance where your good looks were more a curse than a blessing?
The problem is almost always the same: the envy of some gay guys.
You’re now a contender for Mr Gay World 2009. What do you expect from this contest?
I’m so glad! Representing Spain and all Europe is a big responsibility. But I think I can be the best of the best at the contest, even though I know will be very hard. I really want to meet new people and enjoy the contest, and for sure would be great to win!
