Impulse, an installation by photographer Fabien Lemaire, was first presented in Dubai last summer, in five specially dedicated rooms of the Heritage Gallery. The 28-year-old French artist created five distinct atmospheres combining scents, sounds and visual elements.
Jumpers [above] is one of them and reflects the ephemeral, aerial and fragile aspects of the young city of Dubai. And though Fabien had to comply with the very strict no-nudity policy of the gallery, the eroticism of the series is undeniable.
“These photos are not staged, there are no models,” he explains. “Just the spontaneity of an evening meeting with a group of acrobatic dancers during their training. They were teaching jumps to each other, I thought it was beautiful. I didn’t give instructions or change anything, I just made myself invisible — they looked perfect to me.”
Impulse will be presented in Paris starting January 20th at the Tiaré Groupe Family Office. And we will show a second tableau later this week: Firemen!
