Baptiste Giabiconi and Karl Lagerfeld rejuvenate aging plastic

Coveted parisian cult retailer Colette commissioned designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld to shoot a special Barbie series to be displayed in their upcoming Barbie 50th birthday celebration between March 9th-28th. The photos will then go on sale as limited-edition silkscreen prints for an outlandish price tag.

French model Baptiste Giabiconi, who recently posed for Lagerfeld alongside Jerry Hall for the Chanel Spring 2009 handbag ad campaign, is playing handsome Ken this time, next to the ultimate silicone-injected female.

If you’re in Paris on March 9-15 — and a total Mattel-addict — come check out Colette’s Barbie and Ken windows and the high security exhibition of the very first Barbie and Ken dolls, only on March 12 (213 rue Saint-Honoré).
