Channing Tatum graced the cover of Brooklyn-based YRB Magazine last April — ahead of the release of Fighting — photographed by Stephen Danelian. We guiltily admit that we missed that one — we were probably still dizzy from his Vanity Fair shoot.
Since Tatum will also star alongside Johnny Depp in Public Enemies on July 1, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra on August 7, the Yellow Rat Bastard is right to point out that 2009 could very well be the breakthrough year of the 29-year-old model-turned-actor.

The feature interview is definitely worth a read, but the real gem is this: “The modeling thing in general, I think it definitely has its stigma. I remember that was an actual requirement [for a movie] that none of the actors that were supposed to come in were allowed to be ex-models,” he tells the magazine. “We had to fight to get in, and you know, it ultimately didn’t work out, but I impressed the casting director. It’s kind of something you have to fight around…”
