Remember the new Dolce and Gabbana underwear campaign, fresh out of Mariano Vivanco’s camera and shot at the historical Circolo Canottieri Aniene in Rome? Italian website River – 700 grammi di cazzate (riciclabili) just ran some cute and well-illustrated profiles of three of the five swimmers involved in the ads.

Paolo Bossini, started swimming at age 5. He’s married to former model-turned-actress Laura Piovani, and can often be found on the pages of gossip magazines. Bossini says he’s never really failed with girls in spite of the sacrifices he had to make for the training. “But,” he concludes, “sex is always good, it’s also training.”

Mirco Di Tora was born in 1986 in Ferrara, also started swimming at 5, and is a backstroke specialist. A strong supporter of the Mediterranean diet, he mainly eats meat, pasta and pizza. A passionate one, Di Tora never misses an occasion to escape with friends from the routine of workouts and races.

Alessandro Terrin was born in Dolo, Venice and at 6′4 is the tallest of the three. The breaststroke specialist makes no secret of being a little crazy and eating too much sometimes: “I eat it all — pasta, pizza, cakes, breakfast, and I can also help myself 4 times.” He nevertheless succeeded in losing 13 pounds in three months back in 2004.

Also in the gallery below, behind-the-scenes snaps of the shooting by Giuliano Federico for Swide.com — the backstage video is also available on the site.
