After the famed Herndon Climb, the next gayest non-gay athletic event is the Turkish oil wrestling season, and most notably the Edirne Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling and Cultural Activities Festival. The 648th edition began last week, with matches from July 3 to 5th. But before that, a Turkish oil wrestling event took place in Kassel, Germany on June 28, 2009. Given the upper latitude, these athletes are noticeably paler than their Turkish counterparts, but just as oily.
