Channing Tatum is modeling again for the sake of a GQ interview, but the 29-year-old is now acting full-time, starring alongside Johnny Depp in Public Ennemies, and in GI Joe on August 7. Chan — “Nobody calls me Channing” — tells GQ about how he became the next big thing, first leaving West Virginia at 18 to end up in South Beach, working in construction and as a perfume spritzer at Dillard’s, getting a modeling job with Abercrombie, and finally going to Hollywood. “I got crazy lucky. Like, sometimes I think I won the lottery or something.” He reveals. “At times it feels like the bottom’s gonna fall out. Just ’cause I don’t really know how I got here. But I just keep moving forward, and it just keeps getting better and better.”
Indeed, even his abs are back! You can read the complete interview over at GQ.
