How does it work?

Simple. If you see a man worth spreading, submit him! Blog posts, YouTube or Vimeo videos, Flickr albums; anything goes. You also can promote links that you like, quash stories that you don't and comment on submitted links.

How many 'I like it' votes does a link need to get to the front page?

There's really no definitive answer to this. Our ranking algorithm (nicknamed CeeJay) dynamically combines user ratings and various scoring contributions -- like the linked site's reputation -- in different ways over time. Rankings are updated several times per hour.

Do I need to register?

You don't need to register to vote or comment on stories, but you need to login or connect with Facebook to submit a new link. Your submission history also is taken into account by CeeJay. Please read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more information on your rights and obligations.

How long does it take for my submission to appear in the Upcoming queue?

Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. The process can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, and you will receive an email notification when it's complete.

What if the preview image or description text for my link doesn't show up?

If a preview is not displaying correctly for your URL, you can easily upload an image from your computer and write a short description. You also may need to contact the webmaster of the site you are trying to share to check whether it meets basic tagging requirements. Our preview system works better when the following three meta tags are included in the source HTML:
